Southern Governor holds virtual meeting with Isa Cultural Centre Executive Director

Manama, Mar. 25 (BNA): Southern Governor, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, met virtually today with Board of Trustees Deputy Chairman, Executive Director of Isa Cultural Centre, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. The meeting was attended by Deputy Southern Governor Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dusari, Isa Cultural Centre Historical Documents Director Shaikh Rashid bin Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and a number of officials from the Southern Governorate.


HH the Southern Governor stressed the governorate’s keenness to maintain communication and boost citizenship, which is considered one of the national fundamentals and noble values, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


HH the Southern Governor praised contribution of the Isa Cultural Centre to the cultural and documentation field. He lauded the directives of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to boost community partnership, national belonging and communication with citizens.


The virtual meeting spotlighted the content of “Riffa Between the Past and Present” book which was issued by the Southern Governorate and depicts the historical and civilizational aspects of Riffa.


Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa praised the efforts made in compiling the book to chronologically document the rich historical and civilisational heritage of Riffa town.


Shaikh Rashid bin Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa gave a presentation on the historical sites in the Southern Governorate which showcase an important part of the region’s history.


The audience expressed thanks and appreciation for holding the virtual meeting which shows cooperation between the Southern Governorate and the Isa Cultural Centre in documenting the history of the governorate.
