Manama, Mar.22 (BNA): The Shura Council lauded the Saudi initiative to announce a ceasefire in Yemen under the supervision of the United Nations in order to reach a political settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
The Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee commended Saudi initiatives aimed to end war in Yemen and maintain regional security and stability.
It paid tribute to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saudi and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, hailing continued Saudi support to alleviate Yemeni people’s suffering and end the bloodshed.
In a statement today, it said that the new Saudi move, which supports the efforts exerted by the UN Envoy to Yemen, reflects commitment to the GCC initiative, the outcome of the comprehensive national dialogue and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
