Muscat, 31 Mar (ONA) — The Sultanate, represented by Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Sciences (ONCECS) in deliberations of the 41st session of the Executive Board of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
The session’s meetings were held via video-conferencing during 30-31 March 2021. The Sultanate was represented in the meetings by Amna Salim al-Balushi, Secretary General of the ONCECS, member of the ICESCO Executive Board.
The opening session began with a speech delivered by Dr. Salim Mohammed al-Malik, ICESCO Director General, who affirmed that despite all the challenges humanity has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, the ICESCO has endeavored to turn the pandemic from a crisis into an advantage.
He also highlighted the role of the Executive Council in shaping the future of the ICESCO and elevating its international status as an organization with a mission to serve.
The session discussed a number of topics pertaining to the ICESCO’s actions that included reports of the Originations’ activities during 2019-2020, as well as touching on the strategic projects of the ICESCO and its future vision.
The session was held in the presence of the ICESCO Executive Board’s members with participation of the secretaries general of the national commissions in the member states of the ICESCO
