Manama, Apr. 6 (BNA): Oil Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, received the Advisor to the Economic Development Board (EDB), Iain Lindsay, with whom he discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in order to achieve the common goals that support the national economy.
The minister lauded the role played by EDB, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to develop the national economy in a way that would contribute to achieving the goals of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
He highlighted the close cooperation between the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and EDB, which contributed to offering incentives and facilities to international oil companies in order to attract external investments, resulting in the success of many oil projects, including the Bapco Modernisation Programme, which is considered one of the largest projects in the kingdom as it cost about US $ 6 billion.
He asserted that the oil sector in the kingdom is making multiple successes at all levels, stressing that the kingdom is resolved to carry on achieving more successes, in accordance with the requirements of competitiveness and the increase in productivity.
The two sides discussed a number of economic and investment topics related to the oil and gas sector.
The minister was also updated about EDB’s development plans and programmes through attracting promising investment from various countries, and carrying efforts to enhance the kingdom’s competitiveness and investment standing.
EDB Advisor praised the topics discussed during the meeting, lauding the role played by NOGA and its affiliate oil companies in implementing various projects aimed at serving the national economy for the benefit of the citizens.
