Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the success of the 2021 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
This success is in addition to the series of achievements by Bahrain through hosting and organizing this annual global race, he said.
Bahrain’s hosting of the inaugural race of the season confirms the Kingdom’s outstanding status at the organizational and logistical level in light of the challenging conditions across the world imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.
HH Shaikh Khalid praised the prominent role of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to strengthen Bahrain’s sports status globally through distinguished efforts to support the race in Bahrain, contributing to the economy and consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a global sports and tourism destination.
HH Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts made by the Bahrain Motor Federation in cooperation with the Bahrain International Circuit, “the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” to ensure the success of the race.
HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton on winning the race and wished good luck to the drivers in the yearlong championship.
