Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): Health Minister Faiqa bint Saeed Al Saleh, chaired the National AIDS Prevention Committee meeting, held remotely, in the presence of representatives of ministries and official bodies in the committee.
The meeting discussed a proposal to establish a website for the committee to spread awareness among members of the society.
The minister expressed her hope that this website would be officially launched at the next committee meeting in June, taking into account the work of the sub-committees and providing the page with local and international news related to AIDS control.
The meeting reviewed the strategic plan to combat AIDS, the work of the sub-committees and the implementation of their plans based on the committee’s objectives, affirming the continuous work to implement the 2020-2025 strategic plan to combat AIDS, in line with Bahrain Vision 2030, the National Health Plan 2016-2025, and the Government Action Plan 2018-2022.
The meeting also discussed the committee’s budget, the finalisation of the statistics report and research related to the AIDS programme, including achievements, the history of AIDS, and the treatment of AIDS patients in Bahrain.
