Manama, Mar. 25 (BNA): The General Directorate of Correction and Rehabilitation revealed that following what was published on March 23, 2021 concerning detection of some coronavirus cases after periodic checkups conducted on inmates, individuals and employees at the centre, all health procedures and the medical protocol have been applied with this regard.
The Directorate of Correction and Rehabilitation said the existing cases among inmates are stable and have been quarantined in a field hospital and provided with comprehensive medical care under the supervision of a medical team from the Health Ministry, in cooperation with the Interior Ministry’s Healthcare Directorate.
The directorate noted that the procedures also included disinfecting the places of the inmates who contracted the virus and tracing all those who came into contact with them and isolate them for fourteen days as a precautionary measure. It also stressed continuous commitment to all precautionary measures.
Out of keenness on the safety of all inmates and within the framework of its efforts to provide all inmates with the COVID-19 vaccine, the General Directorate of Correction and Rehabilitation affirmed that all inmates who have registered for a vaccine of their choice have been inoculated. It added that all vaccines are available to all inmates.
The directorate noted that the procedures being applied to combat the pandemic also include subjecting all employees and people entering the center to a weekly coronavirus test and requiring all workers and visitors to conduct a rapid test before entering. It pointed out that a team has been trained to conduct and supervise this test in coordination with the Department of Health and Social Affairs.
