Manama, Mar. 27 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, chaired BIPD’s board meeting, held remotely, in the presence of members and Executive Director.
Al-Romaihi lauded BIPD’s achievements over the past period despite the exceptional circumstances Bahrain and the world are going through due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), stressing the importance of carrying on the implementation of the approved plans and programmes, as well as to contribute effectively to the ongoing national efforts to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic.
The board reviewed the programmes implemented recently to support the comprehensive development project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and achieve the BIPD’s founding goals, including the development of the citizens’ political awareness, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the National Action Charter, as well as promoting parliamentary and municipal work in the Kingdom.
The board also discussed BIPD’s 2021 budget and future action plans, stressing the importance of availing of modern technology in holding the upcoming events, in accordance with the resolutions of the Government Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and in line with the precautionary measures recommended by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus.
The panel was briefed about the most important programmes and events on the Institute’s agenda, including a set of training and awareness activities for various target groups.
The Board of Trustees also appreciated the efforts exerted by BIPD’s executive management and the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation with national institutions to contribute to raising democratic awareness among the target groups and improving their skills in the exercise of their tasks and responsibilities in a manner that supports the kingdom’s democratic process and resolve to carry on its comprehensive national development march.
